General Finish Care

Brodware fittings are made from premium materials and the lustrous finish should be treated with care. We recommend that they are immediately washed of any residue left by liquid soap, shampoo, shower gel or toothpaste after use.
Do not use harsh cleaning agents containing caustics, abrasive, citrus acidic, bleach, vinegar or alcohol ingredients. Do not use abrasive cloths, scouring pads etc. or the surface will become damaged. Protect against cologne and nail polish remover. Use of harsh cleaning agents will void warranty for the item.
Even though our product is suitable and warranted for outdoor use, salt spray and chlorine can still damage decorative finishes if regular cleaning and general maintenance are not carried out. We recommend installing the product away from direct exposure to these elements and maintaining a regular cleaning schedule to help protect the finish and extend its longevity.
Due to impurities in most water supplies, regular cleaning of aerators and shower heads is recommended at six-month intervals.

inFinium PVD Finishes*

We recommend that our selection of inFinium PVD are regularly cleaned with warm water and then immediately polished with a dry microfibre cloth. The occasional application on a non-abrasive polish such as Mr Sheen™ helps prevent water spots on these finishes. A mild liquid soap and warm water can be used however please check the ingredients to ensure there are no agents (such as caustics, abrasive, citrus acid, bleach, vinegar or alcoholic ingredients) in the soap which will cause damage. Please understand these are highly decorative finishes and do need respect and care to maintain the condition of the finish.

*inFinium PVD finishes include; Polished Nickel PVD, Brushed Nickel PVD, Polished & Brushed Swiss Brass PVD, Polished & Brushed Nordic PVD, Polished & Brushed Gold PVD, Polished & Brushed Rose Gold, Roma Bronze PVD, Statue Bronze PVD, Brushed Copper PVD, Aged Iron PVD & Bright Black PVD.

Organic Finishes*

Organic Finishes come with no protective coating. They are delicate and can easily be scratched or scuffed if not cared for properly. The unique characteristic of these organic finishes is that they wear and patina over time dependent on climate, exposure and use. Essentially, the finish replicates what nature would do to the surface material naturally when exposed to the elements. These products will generally tend to darken on the areas that are infrequently touched and lighten or highlight on the areas that are contacted on a consistent basis. Acidic fluids and astringent cleaners can damage the finish. Avoid using abrasive pads, sponges, or cloths to clean the product. Brodware recommend waxing organic finishes 5 or 6 times a year by using a micro-crystalline wax (Renaissance Wax is recommended). Apply the wax with a soft tissue or cloth and gently buff the wax with a soft clean cloth to remove surface spots. Applying a wax will slow down the oxidising or aging of the finish. Polished Brass and Stainless Steel will regain its shine by polishing with Brasso™ or Autosol™.

*Organic finishes include; Weathered Brass Organic (.09), Polished Brass Organic (.03), Brushed Brass (.23), Rumbled Brass (.24), Vecchio (.04), Polished Copper Organic (.29), Brushed Copper Organic (.34), Polished Stainless Steel (.95) & Brushed Stainless Steel (.96)

Electroplate Finishes*

Our selection of Electroplated finishes are regularly cleaned with warm water and then immediately polished with a dry microfiber cloth. The occasional application on a non-abrasive polish such as Mr Sheen™ helps prevent water spots on these finishes. A mild liquid soap and warm water can be used however please check the ingredients to ensure there are no harsh chemicals in the soap as these will cause damage. Please understand these are highly decorative finishes and do need respect and care to maintain the condition of the finish.

Please understand these are highly decorative finishes and do need respect and care to maintain the condition of the finish.

General Product Care

Brodware tapware is designed and manufactured to ensure reliable performance and high-quality finishes over time. Proper installation, use and ongoing care are essential to ensure your product continues to perform as intended.

Installation

  • Always have your product installed and, if required, serviced by a licensed plumber or electrician accredited by Brodware.
  • Installation must comply with all relevant National Standards and State Regulations, including AS/NZS3500 and follow our installation instructions carefully. This includes the fitting of isolation stop taps where specified.
  • Ensure water pressure does not exceed 500kPa. Where higher pressure exists, a pressure-limiting valve must be installed.
  • Maximum inlet water temperature must not exceed 50°C, in accordance with AS/NZS3500.
  • Where required, ensure flow regulators and check valves are installed correctly.
  • Avoid the use of water filters, additives, improper materials, unsuitable or harsh cleaning products, improper cleaning techniques and hard water as well as non-Brodware replacement parts or accessories which may cause damage to the product.
  • Ensure the system is correctly flushed before use to avoid problems caused by foreign matter in the water supply (including silt, corrosion and excess water pressure).
  • Regularly clean or replace dirty or blocked outlet aerator inserts in tapware and/or shower heads etc.
  • Avoid product contact with improper materials, unsuitable or harsh cleaning products, improper cleaning, external impact or abuse and the effects of hard water.
  • Before installation, please confirm that the product is free from damage, all components are present and you are satisfied with your selected finish and model that was supplied.

Everyday Use & Ongoing Care

  • Clean tapware regularly using warm water and a soft cloth only. Avoid abrasive cloths, harsh chemicals, solvents or acidic cleaners. Surface finishes can be affected by hard water and improper cleaning. Some finishes are organic or oxidised and will naturally patina over time—this is part of their character.
  • Routinely inspect and clean aerator inserts and shower outlets to prevent blockages caused by sediment or debris.
  • Ensure your plumbing system is thoroughly flushed prior to first use to prevent damage from foreign matter such as silt or corrosion.
  • Perform regular maintenance, including replacement of wear components such as seals and valves, as part of normal ownership.

Warranty Registration & Support

Please ensure your warranty registration form is lodged with Brodware after purchase. Warranty work is limited to the approved scope outlined by Brodware. Any additional work must be authorised prior to commencement.
